Defence IQ’s 4th Annual International Offshore Patrol Vessels conference is growing in seniority and in attendance, which directly reflects the growing importance of this affordable and versatile class of vessel.

What’s the current state of play?

- Economic and border security issues in the maritime domain have continued to evolve
- Perceived threats now revolve around piracy hijackings and asymmetric attacks on key assets
- The importance of larger, more expensive naval vessels for dealing with these issues is outweighed by the need for increased hull numbers and greater ability to be in multiple locations
